Soccer/Football Club World Championship

CAPTAIN Dwight Yorke yesterday promised Sydney FC fans that the team would not go to Japan next month as whipping boys of the FIFA Club World Championship.

While sydney may be from a poorly Fifa ranked company the Sydney soccer team believes they have what it takes to be compeittive at the world club championship.

Soccer is a growing sport in Australia and any good results can only go to enhance the sport.

Sydney will play Deportivo and if successful will play Liverpool.

"We'll be underdogs, there's no doubt about that. We have just got to go out and play our own game and give a good account of ourselves and play to our maximum. "If we can do that we can give anybody a game but, at the end of the day, we know Liverpool are the team we want but it's not going to come easy. "We have to be prepared to work extremely hard to get past Deportivo.

Good Luck to them in this Football quest. I hope they get to play liverpool as it will be great for their confidence and will show the world we can play soccer.

Shark gets bitten

Greg "The Shark" Norman who is one of Australias best all-time golfers was severly undermined by Mark Hensby. Mark regarded Greg Norman as someone who does not give back to the game.

In response to this there has been many commentators and golfing peers rushing to defend Greg Norman. Should he be defended ? I don't see him at all these days helping out and he is so far out of the limelight that he has almost lost golf celebrity status.

My personal belief is Mark was right about what he said, Greg should be giving more back to the game. Greg may have "helped out" earlier in his career but lately he has not done much that is in the public eye. He could influence sponsors and help out the Aussie tour, but it doesn't seem like he wants to. I could be wrong and he may have done heaps but none oif it is in the public eye which is his fault.

Lets hope this gives him a kick in the arse and he gets out there and starts doing something for the golfing community.

Australia is dominant in Cricket

After losing the Ashes to England, the Aussies have dominated the next few series they have played. They have just thrashed the West Indies in the second test match and they murdered the World XI. Perhaps they were off in England and had lost the will to win but they seem to have got it back now.

Go the Aussies.
